FOR THE DOUGH
* 4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/3 cup granulated sugar
* 1 packet Rapid Rise Instant Yeast
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 1/2 cups milk
* 6 tablespoons butter
* 1 egg
FOR THE FILLING
* 1/4 cup butter melted
* 2/3 cup light brown sugar
* 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
FROSTING
*8oz soft cream cheese
*8 tablespoons salted butter (softened )
*1 tsp vanilla bean paste
*4 cups of powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS
1. Put 6 tablespoons of butter and one and a half cups of milk in a glass bowl & microwave for 30 to 60 seconds. Then In your stand mixer bowl combine 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt 1/3 cup of sugar, and one package of rapid rise yeast.
2. Mix your flour mixture in the stand mixer (heres the one i used) on low while you pour in your warm milk and butter. Mix for two minutes before adding in one egg. Then mix in your remaining 2 cups of flour making sure to scrape the bowl.
3. Trade your paddle attachment for a dough hook and knead your dough for 10 minutes.
4. Once you have a smooth dough ball, place it into a Glass oil bowl and cover with a warm towel then place it in a warm area for one hour or until it has doubled in size
5. After the 1st rise Roll your dough out into a 12 x 18” rectangle and fill with cinnamon sugar filling
6. Using a pizza cutter( i love this one from amazon) cut 12 equal size rows and roll your cinnamon rolls up.
7. Place them in a parchment lined 9x13 pan (I used this one) and cover with a warm towel, allowing them to rise for one hour or until they have doubled in size
8. After the 2nd rise Heat oven to 350°F and bake your rolls for 25 to 30 minutes
9. Top them with cream cheese frosting, and enjoy!
For Christmas colored rolls: before putting your dough into an oiled bowl, split it in half and dye one part red and the other green. Follow the rest of the instructions adding holiday sprinkles on top!
