There’s something magical about slow weekend mornings, the kind where the sun filters through the curtains, and the whole house smells like coffee and something sweet sizzling in butter. That’s exactly the vibe this Hawaiian Roll French Toast brings to the table. It’s my go-to when I want to make breakfast feel a little extra special without a ton of effort.

I started making these on lazy Sundays when we wanted something fun, fluffy, and totally delicious — and now they’ve become a family favorite. The soft, slightly sweet King’s Hawaiian Rolls soak up the cinnamon-vanilla batter like a dream, and when they hit the skillet? Pure golden perfection. It’s become one of my favorite easy weekend breakfast ideas.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • King’s Hawaiian Rolls

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)

  • 1/3 cup milk (I used whole milk, but you can use whatever you prefer)

  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste

  • Butter for cooking

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

  • Fresh strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries

  • Syrup to drizzle

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the cinnamon, salt, eggs, milk, and vanilla bean paste until smooth and creamy.

  2. Heat a large skillet or nonstick pan over medium heat. Melt a small pat of butter until it’s bubbly.

  3. Dip each King’s Hawaiian Roll into the batter, making sure to coat all sides well.

  4. Place the rolls in the skillet and cook, turning frequently so each side gets that perfect golden brown

  5. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar, fresh berries, and a generous drizzle of syrup.

Whether you’re serving these up for a cozy family breakfast, brunch with Hawaiian rolls, or just treating yourself, they’re sure to make the morning feel a little brighter.
